Stainless steel (SS) wire mesh is a versatile, corrosion-resistant material made from woven or welded stainless steel wire. Its key properties—such as high strength, durability, and resistance to extreme temperatures—make it a reliable and long-lasting choice for a variety of industrial, commercial, and decorative applications. Common gradesThe grade of stainless steel used for the wire mesh determines its properties, including its level of corrosion resistance.
  • SS 304: This is the most common and versatile grade, offering good corrosion resistance in various atmospheres and many corrosive media.
  • SS 316: Contains molybdenum for improved resistance to chlorides and acids, making it ideal for marine and chemical processing environments.
  • SS 316L: A low-carbon version of 316, offering even better corrosion resistance after welding by preventing sensitization.
Types of stainless steel wire meshWire mesh is available in different construction types to suit the needs of specific applications.
  • Woven wire mesh: Made by weaving wires together like fabric, offering flexibility and precise control over aperture size.
    • Plain weave: A basic crisscross pattern, providing a uniform mesh and making it easy to clean.
    • Twill weave: Each wire passes over and under two other wires, creating a denser and stronger weave for fine filtration.
    • Dutch weave: Uses thicker warp wires and finer shute wires to create very small openings for high-pressure filtration.
  • Welded wire mesh: Wires are individually welded at their intersections, creating a more rigid, stronger, and more durable product. It requires no additional protective finish.
  • Expanded metal mesh: Made from a single sheet of stainless steel that is slit and stretched to create a network of diamond-shaped holes. This method creates a sturdy, rigid, and anti-slip surface.
  • Crimped wire mesh: Created by pre-crimping the wires before weaving. This provides more stability and rigidity, making it ideal for heavy-duty screening applications.
Our specialization lies in supplying high quality Chainlink fencing, PVC coated chainlink fencing, Crimped wire netting, concertina Razor blade wire, Stainless Wire mesh, Welded wire mesh, Hexagonal wire mesh, Gabion wire mesh and other wire products for various Industries.

We would be glad to assist you in solving any wire product related queries that you might have.

An SS 446 sheet is a high-chromium ferritic stainless steel known for its exceptional resistance to oxidation, sulfidation, and corrosion at high temperatures. This non-heat-treatable alloy, also known as AISI 446 or UNS S44600, offers the best oxidation resistance among the 400 series of stainless steels. It is a ferritic and magnetic grade. Key characteristics
  • High-temperature resistance: 446 maintains its properties at elevated temperatures and is suitable for continuous use in temperatures up to 1093°C (2000°F).
  • Oxidation and corrosion resistance: The high chromium content (23.0–27.0%) provides excellent resistance to oxidation and corrosion, especially in high-temperature and sulfidizing environments.
  • Limited workability: Compared to other stainless steels, the high chromium content makes 446 difficult to cold work. Forging must be carefully controlled to achieve grain refinement.
  • Weldability: Welding is possible using most traditional methods, but pre-heating and post-weld heat treatments are typically required to avoid brittleness. Using Type 308 welding material is an option, though it may not offer the same scaling resistance as the base metal.
  • Machinability: Due to its composition, 446 has poor machinability compared to austenitic stainless steels. It can be machined at slow speeds with sharp tooling.
Common applicationsThe high-temperature resistance and corrosion properties of SS 446 sheets make them valuable for a range of specialized applications.
  • Furnace components: Used for furnace parts, linings, and annealing boxes.
  • Heat exchangers: Employed in heat exchangers that operate in high-temperature environments.
  • Oil and gas: Used for components in oil burners and other combustion equipment.
  • Chemical processing: Suitable for equipment that requires resistance to hot corrosion.
  • Molten metal handling: Utilized for spouts for conveying molten copper alloys

  1. Copper wire mesh is a ductile, malleable mesh made from woven or knitted copper wire, prized for its exceptional electrical and thermal conductivity. It is also rust-proof, non-magnetic, and resistant to corrosion, though it naturally develops a protective green patina (verdigris) over time when exposed to the elements. Key properties
    • High thermal and electrical conductivity: Second only to silver, copper wire mesh is excellent for applications requiring efficient heat transfer or electrical grounding.
    • Corrosion resistance: It resists corrosion, especially in atmospheric and marine environments, and does not rust like steel wool.
    • Antimicrobial: Copper possesses natural antimicrobial properties that can inhibit the growth of bacteria, viruses, and fungi.
    • Malleability and ductility: Copper is highly malleable, allowing the mesh to be easily cut, bent, and shaped without losing its structural integrity.
    • Recyclable: Copper wire mesh is 100% recyclable, making it a sustainable material choice.
Types of copper wire meshCopper wire mesh is manufactured in various weave types to suit different application needs.
    • Woven mesh: Wires are interwoven to form a fabric-like material. Plain weave is the most common, while twill weave provides more density and strength.
    • Expanded mesh: Created by slitting and stretching a single sheet of copper. This results in a rigid, lightweight, and anti-slip surface.
    • Knitted mesh (gauze): Made by knitting copper wires into an interlocking loop structure. This type is very flexible, soft, and non-flammable, making it safe for use on hot equipment.
Common applicationsThe unique properties of copper wire mesh make it suitable for a wide range of uses, from industrial to decorative.
    • RFI/EMI shielding: Its high electrical conductivity makes it effective for creating Faraday cages and shielding sensitive electronics from electromagnetic and radio-frequency interference.
    • Pest and rodent control: Being rust-proof and sturdy, it is used to stuff holes and gaps in walls, foundations, and eaves to block rodents and insects.
    • Filtration: Fine-mesh copper can be used for filtering liquids, gases, and solids in various industries, including distillation and brewing.
    • Architectural and decorative: The distinctive color and the natural patina it develops are valued by architects and designers for facades, ceilings, wall panels, and other decorative purposes.
    • Industrial cleaning: The knitted copper gauze can be used as a non-sparking, rust-free scrubber for cleaning molds, barrels, and injection molding equipment

INCONEL X-750 is a non-magnetic nickel-chromium alloy similar to INCONEL 600 but made precipitation hardenable by additions of aluminum and titanium. The alloy has good resistance to corrosion along with high tensile and creep-rupture properties at temperatures to about 1100°F (700°C). It is widely used for high temperature conditions but is not as strong as Nimonic 90. INCONEL X-750 has excellent resistance to chloride ion stress-corrosion cracking. The alloy has similar corrosion resistance to INCONEL 600 in many media. This material is not suited for extension springs requiring initial tension.
